KSB Shanghai has promoted the exchange of technologies and professionals between China and Germany.

Founded in China on Oct 12, 1994, KSB Shanghai Pump has boasted nearly 50 technological products, which have been applied in fields ranging from energy to environmental protection and industry.

Jointly founded by Shanghai Pump Factory and 151-year-old Germany-headquartered KSB in 1994, KSB Shanghai acts on advanced product concepts and the excellent technologies of KSB aiming to provide high-quality pump products.

It has served major projects and high-level markets. The company utilized its technology to participate in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. It offered up water supply sets of frequency conversion and constant frequency, in-line pumps and Hyamat CN used for artificial snowmaking.

KSB also contributed to some other projects, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the Hailaar heat project and the Xiamen integrated prefabricated pumping station.

Its sales volume increased from 155 million yuan ($22.46 million) in 1995 to 1.2 billion yuan in 2020.

KSB Shanghai is not only a manufacturing center of KSB in China but has also developed into a purchasing center for KSB's numerous branches worldwide.

It is walking with more steadfast and confident steps to become an influential factory in a wider sphere.

KSB Shanghai has promoted the exchange of technologies and professionals between China and Germany, the company said.

It brought in the HGB first-generation high-pressure boiler feed pumps from its German headquarters in 1998, and launched HG Plus packages, which have helped it to consolidate its position in domestic fields such as waste incineration power plants, steel plants and solar power, in 2021.

In 1995, it introduced a centrifugal pump named Omega, a star product in Germany. This variety of pump can be used in fields that include water supply, water delivery and irrigation and drainage.

There have been more than 1,200 orders of the product annually in recent years. Nearly 10,000 products were produced from 2013 to 2021, with sales approximating 700 million yuan.

As an important social practice and technological communication center, KSB Shanghai kept in close touch with noted universities from Germany between 2013 and 2018.

Bilateral online and in-person visits and discussions helped exchanges between the two countries' cultures and increased international influence of the company in Shanghai. Fifteen students from a German university visited KSB Shanghai to share technologies and culture on March 8, 2018.

They said they would keep long-term and friendly contact with KSB and the company in Shanghai.

Twenty students from the university discussed technological issues with local engineers in Shanghai and praised the product quality and management standards of KSB Shanghai during their study and practice there in March 2016.

KSB Shanghai also embraced its social responsibilities. It aided a welfare service for children with disabilities in Shanghai recently due to its lack of supplies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company donated fresh vegetables, chicken, duck and pork to the organization, which has nurtured 178 children since its establishment in 1994. It would continue to offer assistance to the service, the company's executives said. The KSB (Shanghai) Charity Fund was launched on April 23, 2009. It has helped students from impoverished families in Yunnan province, the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Shanghai.

KSB Shanghai said it will continue providing excellent products, furthering Sino-German cultural exchanges and having a part in helping people.
