Yuan weakens to 6.7171 against dollar

The central parity rate of the yuan weakened 9 pips to 6.7171 against the US dollar on Tuesday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.

Efforts enhanced to lift brand awareness

In line with the "Outline for Building a Quality Strong Country", Chinese experts are intensifying efforts to popularize brand and quality knowledge among the public. Staffers from the China Council for Brand Development, a unit under the State Administration for Market Regulation, visited a primary school in Beijing's Haidian district to popularize brand knowledge among the youngsters. Lecturer Zhang Yaqi told students how to unlock the secrets behind a brand, and taught them consumption skills, emphasizing the concept of "good brand, quality first". The pupils were also informed of health hazards of inferior products, and taught ways to safeguard their rights.
