A mianhua, or decorative steamed buns, competition attracts large crowds at a temple fair in Ashou village, Weinan city, Shaanxi province, on Thursday. As the highlight event of the temple fair held from Wednesday to Friday, the competition showcased exquisite and lifelike mianhua craftsmanship that originated over 1,000 years ago. It was listed among Shaanxi's first batch of intangible cultural heritage items in 2007.
