A baby, accompanied by its mother, undergoes a free cardiac ultrasound examination in Moyu county in Hotan, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, on Wednesday. A special campaign to screen for congenital heart diseases in children by the Chinese Red Cross Foundation was launched in Hotan on Tuesday. As of 11 pm on Wednesday, a total of 912 children have undergone screening, 122 of which will be sent in batches to Shanghai for surgical treatment.
