A thin earthen thoroughfare is seen in the middle of the Yangtze River near Yangsigang bridge in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Thursday, dividing China's longest river in two for a stretch. The two kilometer thoroughfare, which emerged as water levels fell, also functions as a dam to reduce the rate of sediment accumulation along nearby riverbanks.
