Chinese mainland shares close mixed

Chinese mainland stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.24 percent at 3,716.28 points. The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.12 percent lower at 11,802.46 points.

Yuan strengthens against greenback

The central parity rate of the yuan strengthened 33 pips to 6.7220 against the US dollar on Friday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System.
