Judges inspect a lingzhi mushroom, a medicinal fungus used in traditional Chinese medicine, during the "King of Wild Mushrooms" competition in Nanhua county, Yunnan province, on Wednesday. Winners in 10 categories were selected based on weight, appearance and quality. Known as the "Kingdom of Wild Mushrooms", the county is home to more than 1,000 wild mushroom species, including 354 edible varieties — nearly one-third of China's edible wild mushroom species.
