Moves taken to better safeguard rail safety
Chinese railway operators have bolstered measures to better safeguard the safety of rail transport and staff. Yuci Station, under China Railway Taiyuan Group, has asked its staff to efficiently handle flood prevention and personal safety, alongside high temperature protocols and other severe weather during the summer vacation period. Employees were told to take precautions against flooding by removing overhanging vegetation and clearing debris while prioritizing personal safety by launching accident-warning education for all. Watermelons, ice cream and bottled water were delivered to front line staff, while temporary shelters were built for outdoor workers to ensure their safety during thunderstorms, strong winds and rainfall.
