An intelligent traffic-directing robot starts duty at a crossroad in Changsha, Hunan province, on Wednesday. The robot assists traffic police by performing tasks such as directing traffic and promoting safety awareness among the public. It aims to relieve officers of repetitive duties, allowing them to focus on complex situations. Currently, the robot is on a trial run and its services may be expanded citywide if found effective.
