A giant thangka, a traditional style of Tibetan painting on silk or cotton, is displayed on a hillside to celebrate a Buddha-veneration festival at Labrang Monastery, Gannan Tibetan autonomous prefecture, Gansu province, on Sunday. The annual ceremony, held to pray for blessings and peace, draws a number of faithful Buddhist devotees.
