The Haixun 176, a new 2,000-metric-ton large buoy tender, is photographed in Haikou, Hainan province, on Thursday. Measuring 75.2 meters long and 14 meters wide, with a full-load displacement of 2,360 tons, this independently designed and built Chinese vessel is the largest and most advanced of its kind in the national transportation system. It will be tasked with the crucial role of deploying and maintaining navigation buoys in the South China Sea.
