3-dimensional defense guards power safety
Chinese power workers are taking innovative measures to safeguard power supply and safety. In East China's Jiangsu province, when the latest round of games in the Jiangsu Provincial City Football League was held in Xuzhou, staff members from State Grid Xuzhou placed four critical feeders under layered guardianship to provide unhindered power supply for the matches. Meanwhile, daytime visual systems and drone patrols wove a dense surveillance web, while nighttime infrared thermography delivered precise "health checks" on cable and other critical power infrastructure, ensuring stable operations under heat and heavy loads.
Yuan strengthens against greenback
The central parity rate of the Chinese currency renminbi, or the yuan, strengthened 68 pips to 7.135 against the US dollar on Wednesday, according to the China Foreign Exchange Trade System. In China's spot foreign exchange market, the yuan is allowed to rise or fall by 2 percent from the central parity rate each trading day. The central parity rate of the yuan against the greenback is based on a weighted average of prices offered by market makers before the opening of the interbank market each business day.
