Tourists scale the steep cliffs of Taping Peak, a 300-meter-high mountain, to experience the thrilling outdoor sport of "Via Ferrata" in Yueqing, Zhejiang province, on Saturday. Also known as rock-face exploration or iron-road climbing, Via Ferrata is a fixed-protection climbing system that enables nonclimbers to safely traverse vertical rock faces using permanently installed steel cables, rungs, ladders or bridges. In recent years, the sport has gained popularity among tourists, especially young people, in some scenic areas in China.
