The Ferris wheel at Shanghai Jinjiang Amusement Park is being dismantled on Thursday. The 108-meter-high wheel, which began operation on May 1, 2002, was the first giant Ferris wheel in the country. A new Ferris wheel will be constructed as the park is expected to complete its upgrades and reopen in 2027.
