Former senior political adviser indicted
Liu Yuejin, a member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has been indicted for bribery, the Supreme People's Procuratorate said on Thursday. Previously, Liu served as the head of the narcotics control bureau of the Ministry of Public Security. The people's procuratorate of Fuzhou, Fujian province, has filed a public prosecution with the intermediate people's court of Fuzhou. Liu has been accused of taking advantage of his various posts to seek benefits for others and illegally accepting a huge amount of money and gifts in return.
Ex-municipal official given life term for graft
Hao Hongjun, a former senior municipal political adviser in Dalian, Liaoning province, was sentenced to life imprisonment for taking bribery on Thursday by the Intermediate People's Court of Handan in Hebei province. During the trial, it was revealed that from 2006 to 2023, Hao took advantage of his various positions to assist various entities and individuals in project contracting and job promotions. In exchange, he accepted money and valuables amounting to more than 74.98 million yuan ($10.27 million).
