Former grid executive expelled from office

Long Fei, a former member of the Leading Party Members' Group of China Southern Power Grid, has been expelled from the Communist Party of China and dismissed from public office for serious violations of Party discipline and State laws, the country's top anti-graft bodies said in a statement issued on Thursday. The decision was made following an investigation by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision upon the approval of the CPC Central Committee. Long, who was also the leader of CSG's discipline inspection and supervision team, accepted invitations to banquets and entertainment arrangements that may have compromised his ability to perform his duties fairly, violating the central Party leadership's eight-point decision on improving conduct, according to the statement. In addition, Long borrowed large amounts of money from clients, illegally engaged in profit-making activities, and traded power for money. Long's illicit gains will be confiscated and his case will be transferred to procuratorial authorities for examination and prosecution, the statement said.
