The station is a significant node of the future Grand Canal CBD development.
Located at the intersection of the "Belt and Axis" spatial structure of the city sub-center, the Sub-Center Station is a significant node of the future Grand Canal CBD development. The building is fully integrated in a linear city park connecting to the Grand Canal. As part of a landscaped area accessible to the public, the underground parts will also receive natural light and benefits from natural ventilation.
The project will harbor underground the terminal of Beijing-Tangshan intercity railway and will be an important station on the intercity railway connection line, the Beijing-Harbin railway, and the S1 line connecting Beijing's downtown area and the sub-center. It also interchanges with subway Line 6 as well as planned lines Pinggu and M101, making it one of the 10 major national passenger transportation hubs stated in Beijing's Urban Master Plan (2016-35) and a key gateway to the sub-center. Passengers can directly arrive at Xiong'an New Area in 60 minutes, Beijing Capital International Airport in 15 minutes, Beijing Daxing International Airport in 35 minutes, and Tangshan in 30 minutes.
The Sub-Center hub's relies on green transportation, energy savings, sustainable architecture, clean construction, operation and maintenance. It builds a systematic and holistic green ecological system in all respects, and creates a large-scale public transportation hub featuring high densification, environmental protection, efficient and sustainable operation. Overall, it contributes actively to reducing the carbon footprint and to target neutrality goals.
The project aims to become a green, ecological and comfortable model of a smart transportation hub with station-city-industry integration, and a center of vitality for the sub-center.
