China's first vessel capable of laying 10,000 metric tons of cable is seen in Ruichang, Jiangxi province, on Thursday. The 155-meter Longyin 9, which is wholly designed and built domestically, is capable of laying cable across the Pacific Ocean, from China, in one go. It is expected to be put into service in September.
